Celebrating the Unity of Humanity through Art
Dear Visitors, Thank you for visiting this new site. I hope you enjoy my work.
My paintings are often inspired by the teachings of my spiritual path and 'Abdu'l-Bahá,
the concept of unity in diversity, and events in my life. Click on each to see the whole painting.
I've included new work as well as images of some of the paintings sold in the past year.
If you see a painting you like that is no longer available, it may be available as a canvas
reproduction giclée that I add paint embellishments to (but that can be hard to tell
the difference from the original). These are lower in price than originals. By the way, anything
that has a price is for sale. Many that have SOLD on them are available as reproductions.
I'd love to hear your feedback or inquiries about custom work. I can be reached by email:

Books

I created this series of six books with the help of my beloved daughters, Aimee Porter and Jenny Felimi, in response to various events happening in the world and in my personal life. Jenny passed from cancer late in 2023, hence the book Blossoms of Wisdom & Light for Grieving Hearts (2024) that Aimee and I created in the hopes of assuaging our grief and maybe others' too. We found loss/grief comes in many forms other than from the loss of a loved one - like the loss of a marriage, a homeland, memory, a career, health and more. 5x7.5 $14 each. Each of these books were created in the spirit that we are a human family connected to all life and to each other, and that each is deserving of respect, love, peace, education, compassion, justice, equality, and the necessities of life. ‘Abdu’l-Bahá and the teachings of the Bahá’i Faith inspired creating them, as well as the wise words of many other Faiths, spiritual paths and cultures, MLK, Maya Angelou, Rumi, and more. May you also find inspiration and spiritual nourishment on their pages.

About the Artist

I have created art most of my adult life – batiks, floorcloths, murals, hand-painted photography, mosaics, and paintings in oil and acrylic, and sometimes fabric. And I have created eight illustrated books, some with my daughters, Aimee Porter and Jenny Felimi, who passed away from cancer in 2023. My work is inspired by many things, but most special to me is the series of paintings I’ve done in the theme of the unity of humanity - celebrating our differences (not just tolerating them…). You will see it in my “Dancing Trees” series. I am a mother and grandmother and love doing art projects with other children as well. My daughter Aimee and I have done many projects with children at the Refugee Children Center, and three were recently on exhibit at the Skirball Cultural Center in LA. I have also worked as an illustrator, writer and editor for Oceti Wakan for many years creating curriculum for Native American children and youth for the prevention of addiction and suicide. I feel I’ve had a very blessed and creative life!
